Imagine a world without new information. You do not know exactly what is happening in your surroundings. You do not have information that will help you with your everyday life. You get out of your house without knowing that there is a storm coming. Having no idea of current information that can help you live your life is very hard. Having no information at all is a violation of our inherent right to communication. Ergo, news is invented.

Meaning
Let's define first news in its etymological sense. At first, news is a plural form of words. Its root word is new, which literally means something that is recent in origin. A thing may be considered new when it does not exist before its existence. When we pluralized this word, we come up with the word news.

During the middle ages, the term news refers to things that are new to people. Since there are so many new things that emerge, they used the term news (new in plural form). The commonality of this plural term makes it a new term. Meaning, the word news is now coined as the basic noun in singular form.

News is defined today as any information of current events that is very recent. This information is relayed by people using media as their method of communication. Since it is relayed via media (i.e. television, radio, newspapers, etc), it falls under the field of journalism. Thus, it is subject to rules and regulation of responsible journalism because of its being public in nature.

The team there synthesizes the report and constructs it in order to fit it for broadcasting. The synthesized information is delivered to the public by news anchors (in case of television or radio) or by reading materials (in case of newspapers or internet). Sometimes a news reporter may need to substantiate his or her report. So he or she may need to report a news live.

News is very important in any society. It informs us of anything recent that must be known. This recent information is needed in order to help us cope with our surroundings. Imagine that if news does not exist, living life would be harder. Therefore, news is a great help in the development of a society.
