As the theatrical trailer of Jodhaa Akbar is unveiled this week, Ashutosh Gowariker can finally breathe a sigh of relief. “It’s been a grueling but rewarding time. I’ve been virtually sleeping on the sets. We have finally zeroed- in on January 25 as the date of release. It’s a good week because we get the full 3-day holiday weekend, Republic Day and all” says Ashutosh Gowariker.

Rang De Basanti was released during the same weekend two years ago. “Was it?” Ashutosh seems unaware of the coincidence. “It just seems like the right moment. It’s a pity we couldn’t make it on schedule on October 12.” Ashutosh still has one song to shoot which he will do as soon as Aishwarya returns from Boston from shooting her Pink Panther movie.

The epic’s postponement has given two other biggish films Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and Bhool Bhulaiya to slip into the Eid Friday. “We aren’t attaching the trailer to any of the two films,” informs Ashutosh. “It goes into theatres independently.” But it is just a coincidence that the Jodhaa Akbar trailer is being released during the same week that the film was earlier supposed to release? “You can call it a pleasant coincidence,” ends Ashutosh.

Getting into the churn of events, Ganesh Acharya moves on from the setback of his film, Swami. He is now all set to make his next ‘commercial’ flick titled, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai. The starcast of the film includes Govinda, Aftab Shivdasani, Celina Jaitley, Upen Patel and Manoj Bajpai. Ganesh has now also signed Hansika Motwani for the film.

Why the title Money Hai Toh Honey Hai? “No better title suits a commercial film like this. In addition, there is truth in the title and it’s a real story; a film about six characters who try to make it big when they get a golden opportunity”, says Ganesh Acharya. “Hansika plays the role of a television actor trying to get into films and since Hansika has been in television, it suits her best. She is paired opposite Govinda while Celina and Aftab are paired together. Upen Patel however is not paired with anyone. Archana Puran Singh has also been signed for the film,” adds Ganesh.

Director Rakesh Roshan says the villain’s character in “Krrish 3″ will be as powerful as Hrithik’s character. “This time the anti-hero will be as powerful as the hero. See, ‘Krrish’ saw the birth of the superhero. Now we’ll see the superhero combating other forces,” Rakesh Roshan told IANS.
In “Krrish”, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah had played the villain. Rakesh is currently busy creating his first production for an outside director.

“Our first production, which I won’t direct, is a comedy that my assistant Raja Sen will direct. It’s a comedy called ‘Krazy 4′ with four main characters played by Irrfan Khan, Arshad Warsi, Rajpal Yadav and Suresh Menon. Diya Mirza plays the female lead. “Raja Sen has been with me for the last three years and assisted me in three films. Since I’m working on the third superhero film, I let him do this script. We’ll finish Raja’s film before I start mine. Any film that comes from my banner has to be equally competent.”

“Krrish 3″ is presently in the scripting stage. “I can’t focus on more than one project at a time. Maybe that’s my weakness. We’re working on the script. The story has to be just right. The plot has to be inspiring. I’ve to get that gut feeling that the plot is right. The special effects aren’t the main thing…the plot is. Until I’m happy with that I won’t start ‘Krissh 3′.

“Let’s face it, we can’t match ‘Spiderman 3′ in budget. But if they give 10 action scenes I’ll do two with equal finesse. We’ve to out do them in content and count on Indian audiences being more interested in Hrithik than Tobey Maguire,” the director said.

It is raining comedies at the box office and humour specialist Priyadarshan’s “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” that releases Friday falls in the same genre. But this time he is also offering a mix of science and mysticism. He has roped in Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav along with Shiney Ahuja, Vidya Balan and Amisha Patel to add some fun and frolic.

The film revolves around a US-based couple Siddharth Chaturvedi (Shiney Ahuja) and Avni (Vidya Balan), who are visiting their family in India. The newly weds receive a warm welcome. But when Siddharth insists on staying on in his royal ancestral mansion, it upsets his relatives, especially his uncle Badrinarayan Chaturvedi (Manoj Joshi), who openly voices his disapproval.

Despite the opposition, Siddharth, ignorant of a secret that has destroyed the family for generations, moves into the haunted mansion with Avni. Initially, everything is normal but gradually mystery, shock and surprises start greeting them at every step. Scientifically inclined, Siddharth ignores it at first, but the mysterious incidents are hard to neglect, so he decides to solve them with the help of his friend Aditya (Akshay Kumar).

A doctor by profession, Aditya is known for his eccentric ways and unpredictable nature. He agrees to help Siddharth and flies down to India to probe the mysterious occurrences in the mansion. Batukshankar Upadhyay (Paresh Rawal), Radha (Amisha Patel) and Chhote Pandit (Rajpal Yadav) constantly hinder his work and create confusion. But Aditya manages to get to the bottom of the matter.

Priyadarshan’s last release “Dhol” did decent business at the ticket window. “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” is inspired by hit Malayalam movie “Manichitrathazu”. If the fusion in this film is as interesting as the Shobhana and Mohanlal starrer, it will rake in big money at the box office.

Rakhi Sawant is upset with Karan Grover and Kavita Kaushik - her fellow contestants on TV dance show “Nach Baliye 3″ - as they did an act based on her unpleasant kissing controversy with singer Mika. Rakhi went visibly pale when Karan and Kavita started their jig on STAR Plus’ competition. She said that if they had warned her, she would have stayed backstage.

“I went blank when I saw them. My heartbeat stopped. If they had warned me about what they were going to do I wouldn’t have come to watch from the audience,” Rakhi told IANS. “I became so tense anything could’ve happened to me. Then what would have happened to my act which followed this piece of unauthorised dirty dancing?”

Rakhi had made headlines when she accused singer Mika of forcibly kissing her. Rakhi openly accuses her colleagues of catty behaviour.
