Torrie Wilson Biography

Born Torrie Anne Wilson on the 24th of July 1975 in Boise, Idaho, Torrie Wilson is a renowned pro wrestler, model, and fitness competitor. She is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment, where she works for its SmackDown brand.

At the age of ten, Wilson moved to the small town of McCall in Idaho shortly after her parents split up. She was extremely shy as a child, but was able to make friends at her new school. Wilson quickly found her niche in a number of school activities that included dance and cheerleading. She was also a star of track and field.

Throughout high school, Wilson’s mother encouraged her to pursue modeling as her interest in the vocation grew. After visiting a modeling agency, she was told that she would have to lose some weight in order to be considered for that type of work. She lost eight pounds, but also began a bout with bulimia that would last four years.

After high school, Wilson moved to Los Angeles in order to pursue an acting career. She started taking classes, and met an agent who helped her get a few jobs, including an uncredited appearance on the TV show Baywatch. In the year 1999, Wilson made her debut on World Championship Wrestling (WCW). At that event, she met Kevin Nash backstage, which would lead to full time work in the field of wrestling. Back then, she was wrestling under the name of “Samantha.” She served as a valet for David Flair. In the year 1999 at the Bash at the Beach, Wilson led Flair over Dean Malenko and won the WCW United States Championship.

In the year 2001, Torrie Wilson made her WWF television debut on a SmackDown episode. She was a member of the Alliance during the WCW/ECW Invasion storyline. Wilson regularly teamed up with Stacy Keibler in defeating Trish Stratus in an arm wrestling tournament. The two of them would go on to make their wrestling debuts in a Bra and Panties WWF match against Lita and Trish Stratus as part of the WWF Invasion PPV, which the two would lose. On RAW the next night, Torrie defeated Trish Stratus in a paddle on a pole match. Despite her lack of experience, Wilson would feud with the WWE Divas on a regular basis and interfere in matches on behalf of other wrestlers belonging to the WCW/ECW stable.

On a June 2006 RAW edition, Torrie Wilson would defeat Candice Michelle in the first Wet and Wild Match. The idea of that match was to put the competitors in white clothing and fight with water balloons and squirt guns. As a result, she was put on the cover of the WWE 2006 Summer Special Magazine. Wilson also made a special appearance on the WWE ECW brand in the summer of 2006, representing RAW in a bikini contest against Kelly Kelly, the ECW diva. No winner was declared, and a six person mixed tag match ten began that pitted Wilson, the Sandman, and Tommy Dreamer against Kelly Kelley, Test, and Mike Knox.
