Undertaker Biography

Born Mark William Calaway on the 24th of March 1965, the Undertaker is a pro wrestler based in the United States of America. He currently wrestles for the SmackDown brand of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), but is on leave due to an injury.

As of the year 2007, Calaway has the distinction of being one of the WWE’s longest tenured performers, having joined seventeen years prior. Besides Shawn Michaels, he is the only wrestler to have appeared on the first episode of Monday RAW that is still with the company to this day.

Calaway launched his wrestling career in the year 1984 as part of World Class Championship Wrestling. In the year 1989, he joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW.) At the end of 1990, Calaway moved on to the World Wrestling Federation, known today as World Wrestling Entertainment.

Calaway boasts an undefeated fifteen to zero record at WrestleMania. He has been a World Champion on five occasions. On four occasions, he was a WWF/E Champion. He is a one time World Heavyweight Champion. Calaway was also the winner of the Royal Rumble in the year 2007.

Mark Calaway made his wrestling debut in the year 1984 in Dallas, Texas as part of World Class Championship Wrestling. At that point, he was wrestling under the name of Texas Red. His first match was against Bruiser Brody. In the year 1988, he would leave World Class Championship Wrestling, at which point he wrestled for several different territories under a variety of gimmicks. For the United States Wrestling Association, Mark Calaway would win the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship. This was his first title, earned on April Fool’s Day 1989 from Jerry “The King” Lawler.

Calaway received his first mainstream wrestling exposure under the guise of World Championship Wrestling (WCW). His name at WCW was “Mean” Mark Callous.” He wrestled as part of the Skyscrapers tag team alongside “Dangerous” Dan Spivey. Later, he rescued as a singles wrestler. Throughout his Skyscrapers tenure, Calaway and Spivey were involved in a feud against the Road Warriors. Spivey would leave before the feud came to a close, however. Then, Calaway took on the guidance of Paul E. Dangerously. He then muscled his way through Johnny Ace and Brian Pillman. Perhaps his most famous WCW match was against Lex Luger. This took place at the Great American Bash of 1990. Calaway lost the match after Luger pinned him after a clothesline. WCW then declined to renew his contract, at which point he was signed to the World Wrestling Federation. (Calaway also toured with New Japan Pro Wrestling during this period.)

In addition to wrestling, Calaway has a number of outside interests. He is known for being an avid collector of Harley Davidson and West Coast Chopper motorcycles. He is also a big music fan. He is said to enjoy the music of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, ZZ Top, AC/DC, Kiss Guns N Roses, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Black Label Society, the Birthday Party, as well as numerous country and blues artists.
